Chemistry is an important stream of science which has a lot of potential and applications from local to global. As there is a shortage of fresh post graduates in chemistry for Pharma Industry, and to fulfill the needs of Pharma Industry, the Management of Sir C.R.Reddy Educational Institutions decided to introduce Master of Science in Chemistry in Sir C. R. Reddy College for women. Master of Science in Chemistry with Organic Chemistry as specialization (M.Sc. Organic Chemistry) is started with an intake of 30 seats in our institution with the affiliation of Andhra University in the year of 2002, and after successful complexion of four years another branch M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry was also introduced in 2006 with an intake of 30 seats. The main aim of introducing Chemistry is to create an opportunity to study M.Sc. Chemistry for B.Sc. Students in and around West Godavari Dist, and to fulfill the local, regional, national and global needs. During two decades, Department of Chemistry produced thousands of talented and outstanding students. Our students have been working in so many multi- national companies (MNCs) in India and abroad. They are well settled and occupied in higher positions. Department feels proud to make local students to meet the global challenges.
